User Analysis (Great Job Applicant Screening Tool).....
We also have clients that send job applicants to us for a pre-hire evaluation of their candidate's QuickBooks skills. We have found less than 2 in 10 that we would consider to be skilled users.
The sample company used in the analysis and in the course is a contractor. A contracting company has been selected because contractors generally use (or should use) ALL of the features included in QuickBooks.
Our evaluation is not a test. It is a script (with supporting documents) that outlines a typical day in a contractor's office. As the day progresses, the trainee is required to complete 30 QuickBooks tasks that would substantiate the day's activities. The day starts out with a purchase on a new credit card. The resulting QuickBooks tasks would include setting up a new credit card, entering the purchase transaction, and entering a new asset. Creating a Job Profit and Loss Report is one of the required tasks. We have found that it takes from four to six hours to complete the tasks, and for us to review the written evaluation (a copy can be emailed to owners/managers), during which we tutor the trainees on their errors and weaknesses. This review has proved to be invaluable. A certificate is provided to all trainees earning a 75% grade on the evaluation.
When added to our course, the evaluation is just $50. It is $95 without the course.
